Seaside Nature Park "Piejūra"

The territory of the park covers approximately one fifth of the territory of the Carnikava district (the total area is 43.15 km2) and stretches along the sea for 19 km. More than half of the nature park is covered by seaside forests, including rivers and lakes and the seashore.

In the park you can see the dune amphitheater and the parabolic dune, which formed naturally. The park is special with the Rose Dune and the Valley of Life. The nature park has several restricted areas, such as Lake Ummis.

Infrastructure and recreational facilities

  • About 1.5 km from the village is the center of Carnikava with all the necessary infrastructure, including: 1) public transport; 2) shop; 3) pre-school education institutions 4) primary school etc.

  • 1.2 km from the village there is a public beach by the River Gauja in the Regional Research Center;

  • Within a similar distance of about 1 km, passing  through the Seaside Nature Park, is the Gulf of Riga beach, which will always have relatively few people;

  • Not far from the village is also a newly built paved promenade through the Seaside Nature Park to the beach;
